WDL Aviation has placed BAe 146-200 D-AWUE (msn E2050 ex PK-PJP) into service. The airline acquired her from Indonesia’s Pelita. She was converted from VIP to a 98-seat passenger configuration by NAYAK technical services Kiln and by Avrotec at Woodford. The work included installation of mandatory and recommended upgrades, including TCAS and 8.33kHz compatible-equipment, and a substantial increase in design weights. Completion of the work was delayed, however, by late delivery of cabin equipment including Avio leather seats. WDL flew her without seats to Köln in April for certification by the German LBA before returning her to Woodford to await completion of the interior. To avoid further delays, she was then placed in service with interim, fabric-covered seats and began operating on behalf of Debonair on routes from Mönchengladbach to Luton and Barcelona on 14 May.
