Avro RJ70 TC-THL (msn E1249) of Turkish Airlines slid off the runway at Siirt airport in southeast Turkey on arrival from Ankara on flight TK774 on 22 April. Two of the 5 crew and 7 of the 46 passengers on board were injured, though none seriously. This is the second serious landing accident to a Turkish Avro RJ. The airline’s RJ100 TC-THF (msn E3240) was damaged beyond repair in a landing accident at Samsun in January 1998.
