BAE Systems delivered only fourteen Avro RJs during 2000, compared to 23 in 1999 and 21 in 1998, as orders for current models are completed and attention turns to the forthcoming RJX.The total included the last seven RJ85s to Mesaba, five RJ100s to CityFlyer, and two RJ100s to Aegean Aviation.

BAe 146-100 EI-CPY (msn E1003) of CityJet was grounded in early December following the discovery of cracks in the wings. She was later ferried to Bournemouth for repairs. The airline leased 146-200 G-DEBE (msn E2022) from Flightline to stand in for her on Air France franchise flights.
Avro RJ100 SE-DSV (msn E3250) was delivered to Malmö Aviation on 16 December. After many delays, the airline took delivery of its first RJ100 in November. It is due to receive seven more, replacing most of its current BAe 146s.
The Financial Times is reporting that British Airways is negotiating to take over British Regional Airlines Group PLC, which includes BAe 146 operators British Regional Airlines (BRAL) and Manx. BRAL already operates as a British Airways franchisee.
