Guernsey-based airline Aurigny will wet-lease a BAe 146 from Titan Airways to provide additional capacity during the 2003 summer season. Aurigny operates Britten-Norman Trislanders on flights between the Channel Islands and SAAB 340s on longer routes. During the busy summer season, however, these aircraft are insufficient to meet the demand. In 2002, Aurigny leased a 46-seat ATR42 from Danish Air Transport. Even this proved insufficient, however, so this year Aurigny turned to a 90-seat 146 to help meet peak-season demand. The 146 will operate on weekends. It will fly a roundtrip from London Stansted to Guernsey, supplementing the 340s on the route, and three roundtrips to Manchester, replacing the 340s entirely on that route.
