Swiss has announced a further round of cutbacks aimed at staunching continuing losses. The latest cut, announced on 18 January, will see “at least 13 regional aircraft” leave the fleet. The specific aircraft to be cut apparently will depend on negotiations with other airlines to take over most of the airline’s routes from Basel as well as several from Geneva. Swiss’ four RJ85s and fifteen RJ100s have so far been spared from the cutbacks that have slashed the Swiss fleet, but some of them may well be affected this time — particularly the smaller RJ85s.
