Northwest renews Mesaba Avro RJ contract

Mesaba has reached a new agreement with Northwest Airlines to continue operating 35 Avro RJ85s under the Northwest Airlink banner. Mesaba’s current contract to operate the RJ85s was due to expire in April 2007. It will now be extended under the new 10-year agreement with Northwest. The agreement between the airlines also extends Mesaba’s contract to operate 65 Saab 340s and includes a new contract to operate at least 15 new Bombardier CRJs.
