Swiss will drop its SAAB 2000s and ERJ 145s and focus its regional fleet on the Avro RJ fleet, which will be boosted with an additional six RJ100s. The airline currently operates four RJ85s and fifteen RJ100s. One of the current RJ100s will leave the fleet, however, eventually giving the airline a total 24 RJs. The airline’s order for thirty Embraer 170s and 190s is technically still on the books, but initial deliveries have been once again pushed back, and are now set for 2008. Swiss’ technical services division in Basel has recently signed agreements to maintain Avro RJs belonging to Lufthansa and Blue1.
