The Air France-KLM group has long mooted a substantial order to replace the varied types operated by their regional affiliates, but the recent order for 6 Embraer 190s by Air France affiliate Régional Airlines does not mean such an order is imminent. CityJet operates a substantial fleet of BAe 146s on Air France regional services, and has been studying possible replacements for some time. An Air France-KLM spokesman indicated that no substantial order would be placed before the 2010-2012 period, by which time a greater range of choices should be available. In the interim, CityJet is said to be considering leasing some Avro RJ100s.
