Aspen looks for BAe 146 replacement

With both Air Wisconsin (operating as United Express) and Mesaba (operating as Northwest Jet Airlink) scheduled to withdraw their BAe 146s and Avro RJ85s from service, Aspen is scrambling to find replacement jet service. The last Air Wisconsin BAe 146 flight from Aspen is scheduled to operate on 17 April 2006. Northwest has not announced a date for its final service, but is said to have assured Aspen that it would honor all bookings through the ski season. That would require Mesaba to continue to operate RJ85s into March 2006, well beyond the 20 December date on which Northwest has instructed it to park its last RJ85s.
