Ansett BAe 146s broken up

Former Ansett BAe 146 VH-JJU

The sad end of former Ansett BAe 146 VH-JJU; VH-JJW awaits her turn (Gordon Reid)

Former Ansett BAe 146 VH-JJU (msn E2116) was broken up at Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport on 6 February. VH-JJW (msn E2110) suffered the same fate on the following day. Both 146s had been stripped of useful parts several years ago, and their hulks had sat abandoned at Melbourne. VH-JJP (msn E2037) is the next 146 on death row. All three had been offered for sale by Ansett’s administrator, but apparently at an unrealistically high price that found no takers.
