Stansted-based Inflite is offering an avonics installation allowing BAe 146s and Avro RJs to meet emerging precision navigation (P-RNAV) requirements. P-RNAV requires the ability to maintain track within 1nm for at least 95% of flight time. Although P-RNAV is not required, it is in use at several congested airports, such as Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Amsterdam. P-RNAV equipped aircraft can benefit from expedited clearances and fuel savings. Inflite has already completed one installation, on Atlantic Airways‘ BAe 146-200 OY-RCA (msn E2045). The installation costs about US$100,000, depending on the modification status of the aircraft. It can be installed during a ‘C’ check. Inflite can either do the installation itself or supply it in kit form.
