Atlantic Airways began operating from London Stansted to Sumburgh airport in the Shetland Islands on 23 June. BAe 146-200 OY-RCW (msn E2115) operated the inaugural flight. The twice-weekly BAe 146 service is a continuation of the Airline’s service from Vágar to Sumburgh. The BAe 146 departs Vágar at 09:00 and arrives at Sumburgh at 09:55. It then continues on to Stansted at 10:35, arriving at 12:15. After a one-hour stop, she departs at 13:15 for the 1:40 flight back to Sumburgh. The final leg then takes the 146 back to Vágar, departing at 15:30 and arriving at 16:25. Advance bookings for the service have been good, with initial flights expected to be about three-quarter full.
