KLM Engineering to work on Avro RJ85s for CityJet

KLM Engineering at Norwich has been contracted to prepare thirteen of the former Mesaba Avro RJ85s that CityJet is acquiring. KLM Engineering will work on the thirteen RJ85s that were acquired from MBIA, a bank that underwrote Mesaba’s debts and repossessed them from Mesaba. KLM Engineering extended the old KLM workshops hangar at Norwich to allow it accomodate two 146-sized aircraft at a time. The ten RJ85s that CityJet is acquiring directly from BAE Systems will be prepared by Flybe Engineering at Exeter and Nayak in Köln (five each).
