BAe 146-200 OY-CRG (msn E2075) of Atlantic Airways was destroyed in a landing at accident at Storde, Norway, on 10 October. The 146 was arriving from Stavanger at 07:35 local time as RC670, on a charter flight on behalf of construction firm Aker Stord, with workers for the Ormen Lange natural gas project, and was due to continue on to Molde. She failed to come to a stop on the short runway, and fell down a steep dropoff just beyond the runway end, breaking apart and catching fire. Unfortunately, three of the 12 passengers and one of the four crewmembers were unable to get out in time and died. An investigation has begun into the causes of the accident. OY-CRG was Atlantic Airways’ first BAe 146. The airline acquired it in March 1988 from PSA.
