The love affair between the Lufthansa Group and the BAe 146/Avro RJ continues. Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings, which operates as Lufthansa Regional, is adding another BAe 146 on lease from BAE Systems Regional Aircraft, and extending the leases on seven examples it currently operates. The new addition is former National Jet Systems/QantasLink series 200 VH-NJJ (msn E2184). She had been in storage at Adelaide in Asian Spirit colors, for a lease that fell through, and was recently ferried to the United Kingdom. The lease extensions cover series 200s D-AEWD (msn E2069), D-AEWE (msn E2077), and D-ACFA (msn E2200), and series 300s D-AQUA (msn E3118), D-AEWA (msn E3163), D-AEWB (msn E3183), and D-AHOI (msn E3187). With the addition of E2184, Lufthansa Group airlines will operate an astounding 62 examples of the BAe 146/Avro RJ family — CityLine operates eighteen Avro RJ85s, Eurowings operates four (soon five) 146-200s and ten 146-300s, Air Dolomiti operates five 146-300s, and Swiss operates four RJ85s and twenty RJ100s.
