Per G. Braathens, owner of Swedish Avro RJ operators Malmö Aviation and Transwede, has organised his aviation-related businesses as Braathens Aviation. The new corporate group includes six companies: Malmö Aviation, Transwede, Braathens Technical (which offers maintenance services), Braathens Training (which offers training and type ratings), Braathens Leasing (which owns two Avro RJ85s), and Branova (a provider of IT services to the aviation industry). To mark the occasion, Avro RJ85 SE-DJN (msn E2231), which Transwede recently acquired from Swiss, has been painted with temporary Braathens Aviation titles. Adoption of the Braathens name became possible after SAS, which bought Braathens Airline in 2001, renamed the airline SAS Norge.
