Air France-KLM have announced that they have agreed to acquire VLM. The move will solidify Air France’s position at London City, where CityJet already has a major presence. Together, VLM and CityJet will hold almost half the slots at London City. VLM’s fleet is composed of eighteen Fokker 50s, but they have also been experimenting with the use of a BAe 146, using series 300 G-BPNT (msn E3126) on lease from Flightline. As CityJet is a large user of RJ85s, it would seem likely that any future VLM jet requirements would be filled either by CityJet itself or by acquiring additional examples of the RJ family.
