Indonesia’s Linus Airways began operations on 20 February, flying from Jakarta to Tanjung Pandan, an island between Sumatra and Borneo. On 1 March, the airline plans to add services from Jakarta to Palembang and Pekanbaru (on Sumatra), and from Pekanbaru to Batam (an island near Singapore) and Medan (on northern Sumatra). Other routes will gradually be added, the airline focusing on underserved regional destinations rather than going head to head with established airlines on trunk routes. Linus Airways operate two BAe 146-200s, PK-LNI (msn E2204) and PK-LNJ (msn E2210), configured with 98 seats in a single class. The airline plans to acquire as many as four more 146s.
