Verona-based Avro RJ operator Club Air will not have their license renewed by the Italian civil aviation authority, ENAC. Club Air have been operating on a temporary license that was first issued on 27 July 2007, and then renewed on 31 January and 31 March. The current extension expires on 28 May, and without a renewal the airline will be forced to suspend all flying from that day. In a statement, ENAC indicated that the airline did not meet the minimal requirements for a licence renewal, in light of its continued financial and organizational troubles, its failure to meet a variety of regulatory requirements, and its inadequate treatment of passenger and suppliers. Club Air currently operate an Avro RJ70 and an RJ85, as well as several Dornier 328s on ACMI leases from Air Alps.
