Italian start-up VolaSalerno is planning to add several new routes in the winter. The airline began operations from Salerno on 2 August, and currently flies to Milano Malpensa, Barcelona, and Bucuresti. On 1 December, flights will be added to Verona, Torino, and Catania. Verona will be served with twice-daily roundtrips on Tuesdays and Thursdays and a single roundtrip on Saturday; while Torino will be served with twice-daily roundtrips on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays; and Catania will be served with a daily roundtrip. Flights to Münich are also being considered. To cover this enhanced schedule, a second BAe 146 will join the single example of the type operated by Orionair on VolaSalerno’s behalf. This aircraft, series 300 EC-JVO (msn E3179), has now received VolaSalerno titling, as well as that of VolaSalerno parent Global Aviation Network. The airline has had a successful first month of operation, with over 5,500 passengers.
