New Zealand start-up Kiwijet has announced its latest plan. The airline originally planned to operate Boeing 737s, then switched to Embraer ERJ-145s. In September, it announced a plan to operate four Avro RJ100s on low-fare passenger operations within New Zealand. Start-up dates were repeatedly postponed, however, until the entire project was put on hold in April. The newest plan, announced on October 27, calls for the airline to operate two BAe 146-300QTs on domestic small package and postal services, beginning in the second quarter of 2009. Unless they can talk TNT Airways into surrendering some of theirs, however, these would have to be new conversions.
