Catullo spa, which manages Brescia’s Montichiari Airport, has announced that it will provide EUR1.6 million to Italiatour Airlines to support operations from the airport. Brescia was left without scheduled services when McDonnell Douglas MD-80 operator Air Bee suspended operations in September. Italiatour is being established by the Soglia Group and other investors, and will use the two Avro RJs previously operated by Club Air. Initial routes will link Brescia to Roma, Napoli, and Catania. Operations will begin once the new airline receives its license from the Italian civil aviation authority, ENAC. The two former Club Air RJs, RJ85 EI-CNJ (msn E2300) and RJ70 I-FASI (msn E1260), were recently seen parked at Verona’s Villafranca airport devoid of markings.
