New Paraguayan airline Regional Paraguaya began operations on 2 January using a Boeing 737-200 rather than the BAe 146 it originally planned on using. Regional Paraguaya took delivery of BAe 146 N610AW (msn E2082) in mid May 2008. She was later painted into the airline’s colors as ZP-CAG Ciudad de Asunción. However, she remained parked at Asunción’s Silvio Pettirossi Airport. She has now been registered as N773CS to CSDS Aircraft Sales & Leasing Inc, who is offering her for sale. This is the second time E2082 has been left at the altar. Earlier, she had been delivered to start-up Sol Airlines in the Dominican Republic, but that airline proved stillborn. As for Regional Paraguaya, its first service proved less than auspicious, with 737 ZP-CAJ blocked on the ground by technical problems at Córdoba, Argentina, for almost a week.
