BA CityFlyer ends London City to Dublin service

BA CityFlyer is ending its flights from London City to Dublin from 2 March. The route had only been flown since last summer, and was usually operated by a Flightline BAe 146 until that airline’s demise. Loads have been disappointing, however, in part because of a poor schedule, with the last Dublin-bound flight departing at 16:50 — too early for a full day’s work in London even with London City’s short check-in times. With the schedule already stretched by the loss of Flightline’s two leased 146s, the loss of additional capacity following Avro RJ100 G-BXAR’s accident on 13 February precipitated a decision.
