The sad end of BAe 146 VH-NJA (Nigel Daw)

One of the oldest BAe 146s, VH-NJA (msn E1004), was broken up at Adelaide on 27 May. In her long life since her first flight on 29 August 1982, she had been operated by British Air Ferries (on route proving flights), the Royal Air Force, Dan-Air London, Manx, Debonair, and National Jet Systems (NJS), as well as on short leases by SATA Air Açores, Hamburg Airlines, CityJet, and Merpati Nusantara. She had also been used by BAe for two demonstration tours, one to Africa in 1983 and one to the Middle East in 1987. She had been in storage at Adelaide since August 2008, and used as a spares source.
