Comores Aviation BAe 146 aids in search for crashed Yemenia A310

A BAe 146 operated by Comores Aviation International participated in the search for the Yemenia Airbus A310 that crashed off Moroni on 29 June. The 146’s crew located debris from the crashed aircraft at 7:00 am the following morning, helping to narrow further searches. The 146 is believed to be on lease from South Africa’s African Airline Investments, an off-shoot of Allegiance Air, and to have been operated by Comores Aviation since late 2008.
Additional details on BAe 146 operations in the Comores would be extremely welcome. Please contact the editor.
