BAE Systems has undertaken a set of low-level flight tests to demonstrate the suitability of the BAe 146-200 as a water bomber. Earlier trials, in October 2004, had used the smaller series 100. The new trials used series 200 G-BRXT (msn E2115). She had been in storage at Kemble since June, following the end of her lease to Atlantic Airways. For the water bomber trials, she operated out of Warton. Several sorties were flown on October 28 and 29 in the area of Loch Doon, in southern Ayrshire, simulating typical air tanker flight profiles and loads. Following the trials, G-BRXT returned to Kemble.
