African Airline Investments buys five BAe 146s


BAE Systems Regional Aircraft has announced the sale of five BAe 146s to African Airline Investments (AAI). The five aircraft include two series 200s, msns E2069 (ex D-AEWD) and E2077 (ex D-AEWE), and three series 300s, msn E3118 (ex D-AQUA), E3155 (ex I-ADJJ), and E3187 (ex D-AHOI). All were previously operated by Eurowings except E3155, which was operated by Air Dolomiti. Two have already been delivered, E2077 as ZS-SOV and E3187 as ZS-SOP, and the remaining three will be delivered shortly. AAI provides aircraft on wet leases to airlines in several African countries. Prior to this order, AAI already operates two BAe 146s, ZS-SBD (msn E2053) and ZS-SFZ (msn E2030). Mr Pieter Louw, Director of AAI said that he believes that the BAe 146 “is the ideal aircraft for our jet operations.”
