Recent sales of BAe 146s to Latin America have prompted BAE Systems Regional Aircraft to open a Sales Office in the region. Mr Ricardo Barrera has been appointed as Director Sales, Latin America with immediate effect. He is based in Bogotá, Colombia. After going extinct in the hemisphere at the end of 2006, the BAe 146 has experienced a remarkable revival, led by Star Perú, which has built up a fleet of eight. Bolivia’s Transporte Aéreo Militar (TAM) has also acquired four, while Chile’s Aerovías DAP has one with a second due. Jetstreams are also in operation with several airlines.
