Mongolia’s Eznis Airways is planning to add two former Lufthansa Avro RJ85s. The airline signed a letter of intent to purchase the aircraft with BAE Systems, for delivery in May and June. Eznis currently operates four SAAB 340Bs on services to domestic destinations and on two international routes, to towns in neighboring China and Russia. The RJ85’s ability to operate from gravel strips was an important factor in its selection, as many of the destinations served by the airline have unpaved strips. Lufthansa Technik Switzerland will provide technical services for the RJ85s.
