New ABJ design presented at EBACE

Proposed interior of the ABJ 'Elegante'

Proposed interior of the ABJ ‘Elegante’ (Design Q)

BAE Systems Regional Aircraft and Design Q continued their tradition of unveiling new design concepts for the Avro Business Jet (ABJ) at the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE) show in Genève. The new design, dubbed the ABJ ‘Eleganté’, is aimed at customers “who appreciate the space and grandeur of the larger VIP aircraft but require a regional product for everyday use”. The Elegante features a large dining area that can also be used as a work area. BAE Systems estimates a fully converted ABJ would cost about US$12-15 million – much less than the cost of new-build aircraft offering similar capacity.
