WDL Aviation is operating BAe 146-200 D-AMGL (msn E2055) on behalf of Swiss airline SkyWork. She was ferried from Köln to SkyWork’s base at Bern’s Belp Airport on 31 May, wearing SkyWork’s titles and logo on the tail, and operated her first service, SRK119 to Berlin, on the following day. She will also be used on charter flights to holiday destinations. The lease is initially for one month, but may be extended. Last year the airline had named the Bombardier CSeries as its preferred aircraft, given its combination of range and short-field capabilities. At the time, it had commented that it had also tested the BAe 146 with “very positive” results, but that the type did not have sufficient range for the airline’s plans to operate longer-range operations to destinations such as the Canary Islands.
