Namib Air Express throws in the towel

Stymied by opposition from national airline Air Namibia, start-up Namib Air Express has abandoned its efforts to operate two BAe 146s on services from Windhoek’s close-in Eros Airport to South African destinations. The airline had originally intended to begin services in September 2011, but start-up was repeatedly postponed because of the failure to secure the necessary authorizations. In 1999, a similar effort to launch services from Eros Airport using a BAe 146-100 had also proved stillborn.
