CityLine operated its last Avro RJ85 flight on behalf of Lufthansa Regional on 27 August, bringing to an end eighteen years of RJ85 operations. CityLine received its first RJ85, D-AVRO (msn E2246), in October 1994, and gradually built up its fleet to eighteen examples. In the last few years, it has gradually reduced its fleet of RJ85s, replacing them with Bombardier CRJ900s and with Embraer 195s operated by partner airlines. At the beginning of the year, only five remained. Then D-AVRA (msn E2256) was withdrawn from use in March, D-AVRP (msn E2303) in May, and D-AVRQ (msn E2304) in July. By August, only two RJ85s remained in the fleet: D-AVRJ (MSN 2277) and D-AVRR (MSN 2317). D-AVRJ flew her last service, from Dresden to Münich, on 9 August, and was then flown to Köln for storage. D-AVRR soldiered on for a few more weeks. The end finally came with a roundtrip from Münich to Köln as LH1984 and LH1985.
