Norwegian oil company Statoil chartered WDL Aviation‘s BAe 146-300 D-AWBA (msn E3134) to bring several of its employees who had been evacuated from Algeria back to Bergen. The employees had been flown to Palma after Islamic militants seized the In Amenas gas plant in Algeria. Several Statoil employees at the plant have been taken hostage, and others are unaccounted for. D-AWBA flew to Palma to pick up the 20 evacuated employees. She then flew them to Bergen, with a fuelstop in Köln.
