Australia’s Skyforce has aquired BAe 146-200QC G-ZAPN (msn E2119) from Titan Airways. She concluded over thirteen years of service with Titan her last service for Titan during the night of 27-28 March, with a Stansted to Edinburgh roundtrip carrying mail. She was registered to Skyforce’s parent Pionair Australia (Pty) Ltd on 28 March, and departed on her ferry flight on 4 April. She arrived at Sydney’s Bankstown Airport on 9 April, 5 days and 11 stops later. The 146QC offers Skyforce over twice the payload capacity of its current Convair 580 freighters, while maintaining the capability of operating into restricted airstrips. Skyforce operates primarily from Cairns, in northern Australia, to New Guinea and nearby islands, usually in support of the mining industry. The 146QC will also give Skyforce the ability to operate passenger charters. In addition to G-ZAPN, Skyforce will also acquire sistership G-ZAPK (msn E2148) later this year.
