The breaker’s axe has claimed another BAe 146. Former Cobham series 200 VH-YAD (msn E2097), who had been stored at Adelaide since May 2011, was broken up on 2 November. Originally built for WestAir in 1988, she had also flown for Air Nova, Empire Airlines, and Air Wisconsin before emigrating to Australia in 1996. While down under, she flew for Southern Australia and Airlink before being transferred to National Jet Systems, and then to Cobham. She had accumulated 39,048 flight hours and 37,306 cycles by the time she was parked in 2011. She was then gradually cannibalized to help keep her sisters in the air before finally being broken up.
