Djibouti-based Daallo Airlines is joining forces with Kenya’s Jubba Airways. The two airlines will form a holding company, African Airways Alliance, of which they will become subsidiaries. Although both airlines will continue to operate under their own brands, the move may lead to sharing of aircraft and to coordination of schedules, particularly on flights to and within Somalia, which is their main market. Daallo’s fleet includes BAe 146-200 LZ-DAL (msn E2074), which is operated on its behalf by Bulgaria’s Aviostart. She is currently at Sofia for maintenance.
