Bombardier CSeries certificated

After a protracted development period, Bombardier received Canadian type certification for its CS100 jetliner on 18 December. US and European certification is expected to follow shortly. Both Swiss and Malmö Aviation have ordered the 110-seat CS100 to replace their Avro RJs (former Avro RJ operator airBaltic is another early customer). Repeated delays in the CSeries program — the CS100 was originally intended to enter service in 2013 — have prolonged the service life of the Avro RJ, but that reprieve seems to be coming to an end.
