Reports from the Paris Air Show indicate that Airbus is considering fitting a BAe 146 with a 2-megawatt-class turbogenerator and batteries powering electric propulsors as part of its E-Fan X program. The E-Fan X program aims to examine the feasibility of commercial aircraft with fewer than 100 seats with hybrid-electric propulsion. It replaces earlier plans to develop a two-seat E-Fan 2.0 trainer and four-seat E-Fan 4.0 tourer with electric-driven ducted fans.
