Greek airline Ellinair has withdrawn its two Avro RJ85s from service. RJ85 SX-EMS (msn E2296) flew her last service on 24 September, flying from Athens to Santorini and then on to Thessaloniki. Sistership SX-EMI (msn E2305) followed suit on 1 October, returning to Thessaloniki from Krasnodar. Later that day, she was ferried to Sofia for maintenance. Ellinair began services in early 2014 with a former Brussels Airlines RJ85, and then added a second example in June of that year. The RJ85s were used on both domestic routes and on routes to eastern Europe. The airline has now acquired Airbus A319s and A320s, as well as Boeing 737s. Both RJ85s have been offered for sale.
