BAe 146 FAB-106 was one of two active in 2015; she is seen here at La Paz’s El Alto airport (cv880m)
The Bolivian Air Force Grupo Aéreo de Transporte 71, also known as Transporte Aéreo Militar (TAM) operates services to underserved and remote destinations in Bolivia. TAM acquired two BAe 146-200s on a lease-to-buy arrangement from lessor Tronos in 2007. Additional examples (including a series 100) were gradually added, though some were only used as spares sources. Operational and financial problems meant that only a few of the 146s were operational at any one time. The airline is in the process of seeking civil certification under the name TAM Empresa Publica, for which purpose it has acquired an Avro RJ70.
