BVI Airways Avro RJ100 VP-LWW at Summerside after the airline shut down (Anonymous contributor)
BVI Airways was launched with the support of the government of the British Virgin Islands to operate nonstop flights between Tortola and Miami. Initial plans called for use of an Avro RJ85, but in the event the airline acquired two former Swiss RJ100s via lessor TronosJet. The company flew an inaugural charter in April 2018, and then operated one of its RJ100s on behalf of Haiti’s Sunrise Airways. By mid-2018, it had finally received authorization to operate to the USA. However, by then it had run out of money, and shut down operations.
