After almost two years of BAe 146/Avro RJ operations, Norfolk Jet Express has replaced its single Avro RJ70 with a Fokker 100. The Norfolk-based airline began services in May 1997, using BAe 146-100 VH-NJD (msn E1160) leased from National Jet Systems (NJS). VH-NJD was briefly replaced by 146-100 VH-NJY (msn E1005) in May 1998. Avro RJ70 VH-NJW (msn E1223) then took over in early June 1998. She operated her last service, NC86 from Norfolk to Brisbane, on March 21 and was then returned to NJS.
