Swiss has once again postponed delivery of the Embraer 170s and 190s it has on order, and will now not receive any of the new aircraft before 2006. Swiss predecessor Crossair was launch customer for the type, which was to have replaced the airline’s Avro RJ fleet. Swiss’ financial problems have forced it to repeatedly postpone deliveries and reduce the size of its order. The airline will thus continue to operate its four RJ85s and fifteen RJ100s. The RJs have so far been spared from the cutbacks that have slashed the Swiss fleet.
