Australia mandates BAe 146 wing inspections

Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has issued an airworthiness directive (AD) mandating wing inspections on certain BAe 146s and Avro RJs. The AD follows the detection of a significant crack in the wing top skin of a BAe 146 during a scheduled inspection, and is intended to verify that similar cracks are not present on other aircraft with top wing skins made from the same aluminium alloy.
