Transwede to fly for Skyways

Transwede will operate an Avro RJ100 on behalf of Skyways, beginning on 20 August, flying 40 trips a week between Stockholm Arlanda and Halmstad. Transwede began operations in May 2005, using a former Azzurra Air Avro RJ70. This RJ70 is currently being flown on behalf of SAS on the Stockholm Arlanda-London City route. Transwede did not indicate where it planned to obtain an RJ100, but several former Turkish Airlines examples are currently in storage. Alternatively, it may be planning to borrow an example from sister airline Malmö Aviation, who operates nine of the type. Malmö operated a BAe 146 on behalf of Skyways from May 2003 to September 2004.
