In a major expansion, Italian airline Air One is planning to operate flights to London City from Milano Linate, Roma Fiumicino, Torino, and Genova. Although no formal announcement has yet been made, the flights have been loaded into reservation systems, and have begun to be advertised. Twice-daily flights from Milano’s close-in airport at Linate should begin on 20 November. Twice-daily flights Roma Fiumicino would follow in early January. Torino and Genova would be added in late January, with one daily flight each. The flights would be operated with Avro RJ70s. As Air One do not operate the type and have recently added Bombardier CRJ900s, the RJ70s are likely to be operated by another airline on Air One’s behalf. Club Air is a possible candidate for this role, as they have previously operated flights on Air One’s behalf. They already have one former EuroManx RJ70 in their fleet, and are expecting the second.
