Belgian airline VLM introduced BAe 146-300 G-BPNT (msn E3126) on lease from Flightline on its busy London City to Rotterdam route on 18 April. The 92-seat 146 will operate four of the airline’s ten daily services between the two cities. G-BPNT was painted in full VLM colors at Norwich on 12 April, then returned to Southend before being ferried to Rotterdam on 13 April. She has been christened Spirit of Rotterdam. Should she perform well, VLM is considering adding more 146s. Johan Vanneste, Managing Director of VLM Airlines, indicated that the airline is currently assessing the feasibility of introducing jet services on a further six of its existing routes from London City Airport, while a further 20 destinations, all over 500km from London City, are also being evaluated.
