New Paraguayan airline Regional Paraguaya is planning to operate several BAe 146s on services from Asunción, initially to Ciudad del Este, Buenos Aires, and Santiago. Regional Paraguaya took delivery of BAe 146 N610AW (msn E2082) in mid May, still painted in the colors of Sol Airlines but with a small Regional Paraguaya logo. N610AW had been delivered to the Dominican Republic airline last June, but that airline proved stillborn and the airline’s Brazilian investors ferried the 146 to Brazil in early April. Regional Paraguaya plans to begin operations in June, once flight crew have been trained. Charters will be operated initially. It will be the second Paraguayan airline to operate the BAe 146. National airline Lineas Aéreas Paraguayas (LAP) operated BAe 146-300 ZP-CCY (msn E3129) from December 1992 to June 1993, when British Aerospace repossessed her for non-payment. Hopefully this second try will prove longer-lived.
